First Word Records are excited to announce the details for the physical release of Comfort Fit's new album 'Worlds Falling Apart'. We spent a long time discussing how best to release a physical version of the album with Comfort Fit - mass production seems pretty redundant these days, so we wracked our brains to find something a little different. Here's what we came up with....

Limited Edition USB Wristband (Limited to 111 units)

We've produced 111 USB Wristbands - Each has a 2GB capacity and comes loaded with the Comfort Fit album to load onto your computer / mp3 player of choice. As well as looking really dope, they also act as your entry into a unique raffle. You will be able to win a one-of-a-kind physical object which looks like.....

Deluxe Vinyl Box Set (Limited to 1 Unit)

The first thing you might notice is that this is a limited edition of 1. That's right, 1.

1 x Custom-made white Flight Case with metal corners, butterfly lock and leather grips, proudly branded with the CF logo.

10 x 12" dubplates - these have music from the album on the A-Sides. The B-sides contain the so-called 'B-Side Monologues'. Comfort Fit personally shares intimate thoughts and feelings on each track with you.All the records are housed in hand-made leather-effect sleeves. No-one else in the world will have these.

1 x 12" dubplate - this final transparent dubplate features an exclusive bonus track that is only available in this deluxe edition

4 x Artwork Canvases - We've blown up the artwork and reproduced it on 4 canvases that join together to make a 24" x 24" version of the album cover.

As you can see this is truly a unique and heavyweight item. Comfort Fit felt that this was the only way he could let go of his work: By concentrating and putting the maximum amount of love and effort into one physical object. This intense experience even climaxes with the pain of giving the object away, not being able to keep it for himself.

"When I finally had the Box in front of me - being able to actually touch it and listen to the records, tears came to my eyes. The fact that all of this had become reality felt like an immense relief. All the memories involved in the composition and production process were flushing through me, leaving nothing but a huge space to start thinking about future projects. It had a very mind-cleansing effect. And the recording of the 'B--Side Monologues' almost felt like psychotherapy....'

This was obviously very expensive to make - and to set a price for it would be beyond the means of most fans. So we came up with a slightly more democratic means to decide who receives it.

Everyone who buys one of the USBs is entered into a lottery. When all 111 are sold, we'll pick a name out of the proverbial hat and they will win the Deluxe Edition. So, do you want a chance to own a genuine one-off? You're tempted right? Get involved at comfortfit.bandcamp.com - Good Luck!

about

Worlds Falling Apart is the 4th album from Berlin-based producer Boris Mezga aka Comfort Fit. A self-confessed music addict he has a formidable and versatile musical range-think early Detroit techno, minimal electronica, jazz, broken beat, hip-hop-able to switch styles within a chord change, moving genres as deftly as he moves crowds.

Opening track 'Space Cake Scenario' lets you know that this is no ordinary record - running to almost 11 minutes it combines sub-bass stabs, skittering beats and dubbed out vocals to create something genuinely unique. What follows is 14 tracks that take in up-tempo club cuts (Bermuda, Go Hotrod Go), bass- driven hip hop (Nitro), ambient electronica (Quantum Boulevard, Worlds Falling Apart) and epic orchestral composition (That Holy Moment). Despite the broad sweep of the album each track is definitively his own - a common sonic thread running through the record from start to finish.
